The First Ontario Pöttinger Days on 2 – 4 March 2010 brought the world of Pöttinger a lot closer to our partners and dealers in Canada. Roland Hauzinger, Area Sales Manager for Canada and the USA, reports on this highly successful event.
"The event was held in St. Marys, a town with a population of 6,500 in southwest Ontario at the heart of one of the most fertile landscapes in Canada. 20 Pöttinger machines were presented in a large circle inside a production hall, divided up into mowers, tedders & rakes, loader wagons and tillage equipment, mainly mounted on John Deere and Fendt tractors. The objective of the event was to provide salespeople and service technicians from our dealerships with detailed training on Pöttinger machinery. In addition, potential customers had an opportunity to see and experience the whole product range at first hand.
Day one focussed on sales. Divided up into five workshop groups, around 50 sales people went through the different stations to find out more about innovations, key sales information, technical details and administration issues relating to ordering and the dealership online portal. The day was rounded off with a get-together to chat about experiences and strengthen the team spirit between sales people, dealers and Pöttinger. Day two was organised in a similar way with workshops for service technicians and customer service personnel. These groups focussed on hydraulics, electronics, wear parts, setting up equipment and servicing. On day three, the doors were opened to farmers and customers. Dealership personnel and the Pöttinger team took the opportunity to work together in presenting visitors with information and advice on the product range. There was a huge crowd by mid morning, and with a continuous coming and going throughout the day it was an excellent way to finish off this extremely successful event.
Bolstered by the success of the Ontario Pöttinger Days 2010, together with our North American dealers we are optimistic about the forthcoming season.
Special thanks go at this point to our area representative Dennis Martin, who was responsible for most of the organisation of the event, and to our dealers Huron Tractors and Elmira Farm Services, who provided their tractors to contribute to the great success of the event.
